I have lived in Ferryhill most of my life. I have seen the changes that have happened in our little town over the years and it seems like we are just left behind and all the people with more complex demands upon the County Council are pushed here, despite the fact we have one of the highest council tax bills in the country!
I believe its time for change! Its time to put some new/fresh ideas forward. Such as trying to make the back streets of some areas safer. Speaking with residents they have told me that they feel a lot of local crime happens because the back streets of their area aren't secure or even lit up enough to deter crime.
If elected my aim is to listen and work closely with the community, schools, police, town council and local businesses to tackle issues such as the anti social behaviour we have witnessed increase dramatically over the past few years.
My intention is to make it as easy as possible for residents of Ferryhill to get in contact with me and discuss issues they feel are effecting them. If you have a concern please feel free to email me and I will try my best to resolve or raise any issues you may have.
I believe we need to create more opportunities and activities for our children. I remember growing up and we had a few facilities to use at our expense, it would seem that the few amenities we had have never been upgraded or have gone completely. I will try my hardest to create opportunities and places for the youth of our town to go to and have fun. This will also aid in the complaints of youths causing issues and help negate community issues like Anti social behaviour, Drug issues and Homelessness.
I want Ferryhill to be a positive place for kids to grow up and families and residents to base themselves in. We have a great community spirit here and we deserve to be championed and treated equally, that is why I am delighted to have been elected as your County Councillor for Ferryhill and I can't wait to get stuck in!
